Classification of Financial Instruments (CFI) is a system of classification of identifying securities. it uses alphabetic characters to indicate asset class, asset subgroup and four other specific attributes. The Classification of Financial Instruments (CFI) was developed by Association of Numbering Agencies (ANNA) to provide a consistent, uniform classification system that would function effectively across national borders.
